Britain’s heartthrob, Prince Harry, appeared this evening in London at his first public event since he was photographed nude during a drunken game of Las Vegas strip billiards two weeks ago. Clothed, the 27-year old third-in-line for the British throne spoke and handed out awards at the WellChild charity for children with critical illnesses, of which he is a patron.
Though reports from inside Buckingham Palace have indicated a less-than-pleased Queen, Harry seems ready to move forward, even joking about the incident in his speech.
“All of you, children, families, nurses, doctors, carers, volunteers are quite frankly too remarkable for me adequately to describe with mere words,” he said.
“But never one to be shy in coming forward, I’ll give it a go,” he added with a grin. The audience burst into laughter and applause afterwards.
