63rd Emmy Awards: The Winners are In!

In a star-studded event filled with a few surprises, the 63rd annual primetime Emmy Awards took place last night, recognizing the greatest faces and minds in television (allegedly) for their contributions over the past year. I’m still not sure whether Charlie Sheen showing up or Martin Scorsese was the bigger shocker, but both happened nonetheless.

In fact, even though Charlie Sheen appeared at the awards, there were still a couple of jokes at his expense. Most notably was Ashton Kutcher’s self-introduction as ”not Charlie Sheen,” and the reassurance to his new co-star, Jon Cryer, that he was not, in fact, “a troll.”

On the awards front, Kyle Chandler’s win of Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series for Friday Night Lights seemed to upset the fan favorites, Hugh Laurie of House, and Jon Hamm of Mad Men, as was seen rather clearly through his lack of acceptance speech preparation. It was painfully sweet.
