Lt. Col. Rep. Allen West (R-FL)
The only thing more laughable than an individual attacking someone’s claim to their own race is when the accuser isn’t even a member of that race to begin with. The latest example of this comes from Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA08) who decided it was his place to inform the American public that Lieutenant Colonel Allen West, the Congressman from Florida’s 22nd district, is not a real black man.
Moran said, “Mr. West is not only not representative of the African-American community or of the Republican Party, let alone of the American public. So what he says really is of little or no consequence, but it’s unfortunate.”
Does this make Moran a racist? Hardly. (Although, it’s worth noting that a Republican could never say such a thing without being forced to walk around wearing a scarlet B for “Bigot” for the following decade.)
The more problematic implication of Moran’s statement is that it shows the Democratic Party’s continued feeling of entitlement to the black community. Despite Moran’s wealthy white upbringing (and absence of military service), he feels that he can discredit West’s place in the black community, and in America as a whole, even though West has been a benefactor of the American dream, rising from the middle class to honorable military service to his present seat in Congress. Moran is the latest in a long-standing chain of liberals who feel as though black Americans are permanently indebted to the Left.
Laying aside the fact that it was the Democratic Party who blocked Lincoln’s efforts to abolish slavery, and it was a majority of Democrats who attempted to block the Civil Rights Act from passing, the Democrats for years have tried to position themselves as the natural political home for minorities. This is why left-wing activists are left in a dumbfounded, sputtering rage when men like Herman Cain or Allen West–conservatives who happen to be black–rise to popularity and dare to promote the values of liberty and hard work.
Michael Steele had Oreos thrown at him by Democratic activists. Herman Cain was likened to a “coon” and called a “black garbage pail kid” who liked to perform for “White Conservative masters.” In August, alleged comedian Janeane Garofalo expressed such distrust in the intellect and free will of blacks, Herman Cain specifically, that she claimed he must have been paid to run for the presidency.
To imply that any racial group is owned or exclusively represented by a political party is as laughable as the implication that anyone with blue eyes should vote Democrat, or anyone with a BMI of over 30 should vote Libertarian. The fact is, the very thought that blacks should all share a common political mindset is inherently racist, regardless of what one feels that mindset is.

Moran is a Democrat (which you obviously know) but the post has (R-VA08)
Thanks Brian. That's a rather unfortunate typo!

Don't forget about Alan Keyes! Went farther than anyone expected him to in the 2000 Republican nomination.
One wonders if mr Moran has made an observation about the usurper in charge.
They may not share a political mindset but voting 95% for the Democrats election after election indicates something untoward in their expectations.
Jim is not representative of Morans. Morons, possibly.
Coming from a gent whose leader (essentially 50%white – 50% Arab with zero cultural affinity for the Afro American background considered essential in black American politics) is a complete mystery to everyone, that is somewhat rich.
To be fair, Rep. Jim Moran is not representative of all mentally retarded people in America or the American public and doesn't speak on their behalf.
But he is representative of and does speak on behalf of the nearly 50% of Americans and the 89% of African Americans who vote Democrat.
The race card marching orders have been distributed. Unfortunately, some of the left's foot soldiers are more adept and subtle about spinning them than others. The strategy becomes so transparent when the less clever eager beavers like Moran and Gwen Moore try their hand at advancing the narrative. I'm sure they mean well.
I have nothing nice to say about the trashcan actress. But, if she hates the Tea Party and thinks they are all racists, yet doesn't think blacks can handle their own free will or they have no intellect – maybe that fat cow, wannabe, mad at the world bc she got beat w/ the "no talent" stick, is a racist in hiding? How can she say Obama NON supporters are racist when she obviously hates blacks & America?? I can't wait until judgement day – I hope GOD is kinder to her than she's been to her fellow man.
